Leaping Lizards...it's a LEAP DAY!

Hello everyone,
Just a short and sweet little blog post seeing as I won't be able to write another one on this date for another four years! Just imagine having your birthday on February 29th, you'd be a quarter of your age - being the pathetic person I am, I find this so weird yet so cool!
Leap Day traditions are just as cool/weird.... by Irish legend, women are 'allowed' to propose to men...
What will you be doing this Leap Day? I certainly won't be joining in this tradition - I'm single, and asking a boy to marry me will definitely not be on my agenda - maybe next Leap Day?! hahaaa

Home study is my best friend!

Hello everyone,
After toodling home early due to home study and only having two lessons on a Wednesday, I'd thought I'd come home, grab a cup of tea and sit down to write a little blog post! The sun is shining today and coming home early has just boosted my mood so much, I'm literally on cloud nine at the moment; I'm in my pajama bottoms (I change into these comfortable creations as soon as I get home - luxury!) and I'm just doodling around the house, aka procrastinating and dabbling doing 'bits' of homework. And I use the term 'bits' very loosely - I'm rearranging folders, fun fun!

Any way, I thought I'd just do a rambly, un-planned post and just tell you what's to come! I'm probably going to spend the afternoon catching up with Gossip Girl, online - o.O yes online, so I'm way ahead of the UK's airing - cheeky! Then I reckon I'll do a little bit of homework and make a revision plan of some sort as mocks are coming to get me in three weeks time - eek! Nonetheless, I'm in the process of planning some little cutesy blog posts; books, beauty and fashion thingmabobs, advice and such things!

I hope you're all enjoying this beautiful sunshine the UK is currently having and likewise if you're elsewhere in the world I hope you all have a lovely day and rest of the week!
I'll leave you with an ickle photo of myself loving home study!

Till next time, Georgie xoxo

OPI Obsessed!

After a clearing of my bedroom and more importantly my wardrobes, I rediscovered my OPI nail polish collection and after weeks of having 'naked' nails, I treated myself to a nice new coat of paint! Luxury!
I'd forgotten how lovely these nail polishes were and the overall brand OPI - I have a few other beauty products of theirs; their lipstick line, of which I think may be discontinued now, is to die for!

I've recently become reacquainted with this gorgeous purplely blue iridescent polish, 'Sugarplum Yum' of which is flip-colour, changing in different lights. It has blue, purple, pink and perhaps a dash of silver to its tones and as OPI are all too well known for; it goes on a treat! OPI is renowned for its longevity and un-chipping nature, all of which I adore about the brand.
Here's a close up of 'Sugarplum Yum' - isn't the name cute? So whimsical and nostalgic, reminiscent of fantasy forests and such in fairytales!

Till next time, Georgie xoxo

OOTD - A day at sixth form

Here's my first OOTD, just a day a normal day at sixth form. I tend to wear comfortable casual clothes, grabbing whatever I can scavenge in my wardrobes in the morning!
Here's my outfit!

Cashmere Jumper - Vintage
Leigh Skinny Jeans - Topshop
Collared Top - Topshop
Grey Leather Boots - Topshop Sale

I absolutely adore this pashmina scarf, I'm forever throwing this on to add a pop of colour and pattern to my outfit!
Likewise, this pennyfaced owl necklace is in many of my outfits during the week, it was a bargain too; about £3/4 from New Look! My pashmina is a flurry of green and purple paisley print and is so snuggly and warm; I got it for a couple of £s at a market!

I adore these Topshop jeans, they're so stretchy and I think dark washes are so much more slimming than lighter more summery washes. These Leigh jeans are quite thin though, which is beneficial as they feel like leggings almost and are so comfy but I am weary of how long they'll last before a hole emerges! These are £38 I believe though I snapped them up when Toppers had a 20% student discount special which made my purse very happy!

Underneath my jumper I'm wearing this little sleeveless top which I bought last summer, it's got a cute flower pattern collar and I think it makes the outfit a lot more dressed-down and effortless; layering is so easy too! Especially in the mornings when I'm rushed for time!

I'm currently crazing this OPI polish of which I rediscovered whilst clearing my wardrobes out during half term. It's called 'Sugarplum Yum' and either it's been renamed or discontinued. Nevertheless, the colour is beautiful! It's shimmery and almost flip colour, infusing pinks, purples and a dash of blue into the polish, it's so iridescent and like no other polish I've come across! Fair to say I'm so glad I tidied up my wardrobes!

Hope you enjoyed my OOTD and I hope to do some more!
Tell me what you think!

Book Recommendations

Hello everyone,
As my exams have finished and I've got a teeny more bit of time to myself, I've began reading again and actually enjoying it - not having other things pestering me or always in the forefront of my mind!

Over the years, I've always enjoyed a good little read, on holiday and at home as it gives me a creative outlet in my life, where I can find a little time in my schedule to sit down, relax for a little bit and indulge in fiction - taking me into the world of fantasy and imagination and relieving me of reality!

I'm 17 so my book taste isn't perhaps what you'd call fully 'mature' yet and I tend to reach for chick-flicks the majority of the time as I can enjoy reading them rather than having to think about what I'm reading (if that makes any sense)! I know my friend, Amber loves to read biographies and such of serial killers, but for me anything gory or scary like that I tend to steer well clear of, but I understand everyone is each to their own with the genre preferences.

Anyway, enough of all that waffling, I thought I'd share with you all a few of my most cherished reads and 'series' on my bookshelf! Here we go...

Firstly, my favourite 'series' of books would have to be Sophie Kinsella's 'Confessions of a Shopaholic' series! I absolutely adore the character of Rebecca Bloomwood and her struggles as a shopaholic are all to familiar for me! Sophie Kinsella writes so beautifully too, creating such a realistic and relatable voice to the characters. If you haven't read these books, I believe there are now six in the series then I would definitely recommend them as an easy and enjoyable read. As well as this, the film adaptation of the first two books, starring Isla Fisher and Hugh Dancy (twit-twoo!) is utterly fabulous and so funny!
Here's a link for more info: http://www.sophiekinsella.co.uk/books/shopaholicseries/
Amazon do a brilliant gift set of all the books so far (I'm hoping Kinsella pops out some more as they're so addictive!): http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=shopaholic+gift+set&tag=googhydr-21&index=stripbooks&hvadid=9486869821&ref=pd_sl_2ex4u5n5ho_b

Another of my favourite all time books is Bridget Jones, it's such an easy read and unlike most books, I think you can read this multiple times without getting bored - you'll find yourself smiling to yourself whilst reading it as for all girls Bridget's life is relatable in one way or another! Helen Fielding definitely writes for all of us girls and gets it down to a tee, her writing is witty and Bridget's character is just so charismatic and down to earth. If you haven't read this, you have no idea what you're missing out on, Helen Fielding is the female version of Shakespeare in this century - filling the diary with topics women are faced with everyday whilst putting an all-too realistic yet cringy spin on things: for those who have read it, blue string - you know what I'm talking about!
Again Amazon have some crackalacking deals on Bridget Jones' Diary and of course who could forget the film! http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=sr_kk_2?rh=i%3Astripbooks%2Ck%3Abridget+jones+diary&keywords=bridget+jones+diary&ie=UTF8&qid=1329232462

Yet another book I've enjoyed reading is 'Personally, I Blame My Fairygodmother,' by Claudia Carroll of which I acquired purely due to WHSmith's little offers, you know the 'Buy one get one half price' one that's been going on for what seems a lifetime! Well, after weeks of it lying untouched on my bookshelf, I decided to go for it and begin reading a book which seemed out of my comfort zone as I had never heard of Claudia Carroll before. Nonetheless I began reading and was pleasantly surprised, I'll insert the blurb here I think..!

The fairytale ending was just the beginning…
Jessie Woods absolutely believes in fairytale endings. So would you if you had a recession-proof career as a daredevil TV host, a palatial pink mansion, and the dream boyfriend. But, quicker than you can say Cinderella, her life falls to pieces and suddenly her prince isn't quite so charming, her party-loving friends disappear and even her faithful friend Visa no longer loves her…Utterly heartbroken and jobless, Jessie is forced back home, to live with her stepmum and two evil stepsisters. Is it time for her to give up on the dream - or will Jessie learn that happy endings can come in the strangest of places?Avon's hot new acquisition presents a tale of princes who turn out to be frogs, Manolo Blahnik glass slippers and not-so-happily-ever-afters.

The book itself is published much to my surprise by Avon Books and after enjoying this read so much, I'm definitely considering other Avon books and exploring Claudia Carroll's portfolio! This book is perfect if you want to escape all seriousness in your life including your job, bills and all such boring adult topics. It's quirky, nonchalant and again in the end, not as far from the truth as you may think!
Amazon:http://www.amazon.co.uk/Personally-Blame-My-Fairy-Godmother/dp/1847562086/ref=ntt_at_ep_dpt_3
I hope you enjoyed reading just a snippet of my favourite reads, Amazon do brilliant deals on books these days and you can pick them up at car-boots or charity shops for a fraction of the RRP! Plus, don't you just love the smell and feel of an old book! I hope you enjoy these blog posts, please do let me know!
What are you favourite reads? Any suggestions are more than appreciated!

Valentine's Day Blues...

February 14th, possibly one of the most depressing days of the year. The day when singletons, like myself are reminded all to well of our 'lonely' existence whilst those 'attached' and in relationships appear to be smothered with gifts and adoration from their partners respectively.

Personally, I take the whole concept of Valentine's Day on the chin - it has just become a massive opportunity for shops to market cheap and tacky gifts which will presumably show your love for someone else. Personally, I will never ever wish to receive a 'Me to You' teddy bear from Clintons or the last bunch of flowers from the garage forecourt nor would I buy these for anyone else. Sure a card is nice and chocolates wouldn't go a miss but why should you show your love for your partner on this one day - surely you should show this throughout the year?

As you can tell, Valentine's Day baffles me yet I still wake up at the break of dawn to intercept the post before my Mum, to check whether or not I've been lucky enough to receive a VDay card and ultimately to avoid parental embarrassment! Sadly, no card came through the post for me today and I'm looking forward to a night in, with piles of chocolate and a Bridget Jones marathon with my two boyfriends: Ben and Jerry!

What are you up to this Valentine's? Attached or single, you're all loved!

First-time Blogger!

Hello everyone (well anyone who actually reads this; which I predict will be next to nothing, if not zero people)....anyway, hello and welcome to my blog - sure to be a place where I vomit my general thoughts, chit-chat along with fashion posts and other cutesy things!

I better start with a bit about myself, I guess? I'm Georgie, a 17 year-old, confessed shopaholic obsessed with anything fashion and beauty related. I reside in London and frankly wouldn't want to be anywhere else in the world; I love it - although living in America when I'm older is becoming increasingly appealing. I'm currently living my life to the fullest and taking every opportunity that comes my way to having fun along the way...and if that means underage drinking and such and such; so be it - you're only young once!  I love creative writing and after much consideration, 'tooing and throwing', I'm creating this blog - yippee! As said above, this blog is going to be a portal for my daily thoughts, outfits, fashion and beauty advice...and I hope to get 'cracking' on making this a super-duper blog in no time....fingers crossed tomorrow. :-)

I've made a blog as one of my New Year's resolutions and as I'm too scared to put myself 'out there' and create a beauty/fashion youtube channel....pathetic I know! I just really don't like the sound of my own voice, so talking to a camera is a no-go at this moment in time...but who knows what the future holds! I hope to post as much as I can, with balancing my last year at sixth form in preparation for uni...ahh scary thought!

As well as this, this blog is a personal attempt to becoming more confident in myself; giving me self-belief and that anything is achievable if you work for it. Enough of that mushy stuff...I've made this blog ironically as a creative outlet which I can't 'latch' onto in real life; purely because my immediate friends at school don't share the same passions as me (or as strongly as me..) - fashion and beauty, and my best friends (who go to different sixth forms) are unfortunately missing from my day-to-day life... :( sad times.

I guess I better bring this post to a close....but I guess I will see you, well 'sense' you, if anyone is actually reading this tomorrow with an outfit of the day, after my day at sixth form....presuming that my school will be open ~ though I hope it won't and that tomorrow will be a long-awaited and much appreciated snow day! Here's hoping...

Love Georgie xoxo
