Pet Peeves #1

Hello everyone,

I thought I'd start doing a regular segment on my blog - perhaps weekly or monthly of my pet peeves and little annoyances, things that have been irritating me and might irritate you a little bit too - basically I'm blogging away my pet peeves - voicing them silently over the blogosphere so to speak!
So without further ado, here are some of my pet peeves for this week...enjoy or sympathise as you may(!)

1. People who have palm trees in their gardens....this may seem like I'm just being picky but I live in England and though occasionally we do have a summer, most of the time the weather is indecisive, no matter what the season so having palm trees in your front garden doesn't really reflect the UK. Whenever I drive past and see a palm tree (whilst wiping my windscreen of rain might I add!) I get a teeny tiny bit annoyed inside.... and the little voice in my head screams 'we live in England not Florida!'

2. Terrible car parking....being a novice myself and new to driving around in my little car I haven't got hundreds of years of driving experience but boy oh boy do I know bad car parking when I see it! Here I am parking nicely within the lines (most of the time!) and then someone next to me hogs their space so much so that on more than one occasion I've had to resort to getting out the other side of the car and clambering over the gear stick to do so! Ladylike I know...!

3. Another driving themed pet peeve...here we go. Recently whilst filling up at the petrol station, at 'rush hour' I might add I was forced by the car behind(by a loud horn :( ) to go to a filling stationy bit my car reluctantly pulled up at (the wrong side)- I had to whip the pump around my car to fill up, and although the petrol pumps have extra long 'hoses' for these situations I still felt annoyed and felt as if I was whipping my poor little car! (Please tell me someone else feels the same!)

4. Melodrama - All of us go through a phase when we get our brat masks on and take the centre stage (that time of the month etc.) though it is slightly different with people who want to get all the attention all the time. It just really pushes my buttons and I get my climbing boots on at the ready as it simply drives me up the wall. Over-dramatic people need to re-evaluate their lives and themselves, pleaseee!

Perhaps I should've done 5 shortish pet peeves but 4 will do for now...I have plenty more!

Share with me what your pet peeves are for the week/month/year!

Till next time,

Georgie xoxo

Uni Haul !

Counting down the days has begun, September 17th 2012 - I leave for university and to start my new life living away from home and everything I've ever known for these past 17 (nearly 18) years. Guaranteed that I get the grades I need to go to my first choice university, I'll have an oven and a proper kitchen to cook my wholesome studenty meals in haha - so in preparation my mum and I went on a little spree, picking up bits for my new uni life; bedding, cooking bits and bobs, bath towels etc etc... So instead of keeping these to myself I thought I'd share with you all, fellow students (or not!) what I've bought... enjoy!
Bedding! Went a bit crazy and got three bedding sets, all from BHS in their sale plus my student discount...it's all so Cath Kidsony, I love it!

Few kitchen bits: Little containers, pretty tea-towels, an omelet maker pan - my brother bought this for me hahaa ~ cute little cupcake sign to keep me jolly and some cups and saucers because I'm a sucker for tea as any English girl is... Next I bought some cake tins (set of three), how patriotic are they!? haha and a spotty plate that I handpainted myself at work (I work at a fun little ceramics cafe, I love it)
Just some more bedding bits; a couple of bottom sheets and a cute pink spotty laundry bag!

Stay tuned for some more uni hauling - there's so much more to get...and so little time!!
Any blog ideas or comments....leave below!!

Hello everyone, Finally I'm back! After three months of solid revision and my final A-Level exams, I'm back! I won't go into too much detail about my exams and revision stress a such but all I can say is that I'm so glad to be back blogging! Let my three month long summer and the uni preparations begin!

On the uni note, I thought I'd start blogging about what things I've bought for uni already, keeping you all up to date with what I'm bringing...what do you think?!

As well as preparing for uni, attending the Olympics (!!!) working and going to the beach lots of days, I turn 18 at the end of July! Finally!

Moving on, I'm doing lots of crafty bits this summer and I hope to share photos on here!

Lots of love (I've missed this!)

Revision Stress - The Last Hurdle!

Hello everyone, just a little update as to why I haven't been blogging as of late...

I'm 17 years old and am in my final year at sixth form...I have a university place for September and for me, this is a time of non-stop revision and determination to go to my first choice university (which I LOVE!) So I've been taking a back-seat to blogging recently in preparation for my summer exams, I have 10 arghhh! Plus my extended project presentation is on Wednesday - I'm sosososooo nervous! Any who, whilst writing this mini post I'm procrastinating from doing the three essays set for homework and a bunch of revision notes....hahaa the irony. I promise there'll be endless outfit posts, ramblings, university worries posts and other 'lifey' bits as soon as pos! Sorry in advance and if any of you have any revision tips and tricks please tell me! I'm all ears!

On a good note, I finish my exams in 60 days and I'll be free...until university! I hope you all have  a lovely Sunday and start of the week tomorrow!

OOTD - As I am

Just a little OOTD post from the weekend when the weather was actually bearable and nice outside! Today it's well, ugh! I love this new stripey dress I picked up in Primark the other day, my wardrobe is jam-packed full of stripes but a girl can never have enough stripes right? As well as this, it was a purse-pleaser at just £8! It's short sleeved and reminiscent of Topshop's similar skater dress from last summer. I've teamed the dress with my trusty H&M denim jacket as it was a little breezy outside and my ever-so comfortable Arizona boots, (like Allegras) from Topshop of which I stupidly forget I have!
 Anyway...
Dress - Primark, Denim Jacket and Leggings - H&M, Necklace - old, Bag - Primark, Arizona Boots - Topshop, Bangles - Topshop, Ring - boutique in Milan, Sunglasses - Ray-ban

March Empties and other musings!

Hello everyone,
Long time no post but I've been pummelled with mock exams all week and so procrastinating was a no-go in the evenings sadly! But alas, I'm back! Just thought I'd set myself a challenge and begin to wither away my untouched products and keep my temptations at bay from purchasing more products... Here are my 'March Empties' - hope you enjoy!

1. BareMinerals Loose Powder Foundations, Mineral Veil and Concealer: After receiving this little set for Christmas (of which also came with a bronzer - I haven't even made a dent in that!) I completely changed my face routine and I'm now obsessed with BareMinerals. The products have worked wonders on my face, the covered is medium really but importantly, it's buildable! The finish is so natural and gives you a glow (definitely not the dreaded cake-face or oily!). The concealer beneath the foundation hides blemishes and the natural minerals in the ingredients for me, have helped to diminish any fine lines or blemishes, reducing them in size dramatically. I absolutely LOVE the system and there's no doubt about it - I'm repurchasing!!

2. Batiste Dry Shampoo in Blush - Batiste is by far my favourite dry shampoo brand, it works and the scent and system lasts for hours on end. I bought this for a school trip where I stayed in the Peak District for a week and so this product was a must. The teeny tiny travel size lasted me the trip, I used it on days between washing my hair and shared it with the girls I stayed in a room with too - £1 well spent - thank you Boots! Repurchase? - Definitely, for 'just in case' situations!

3. Guinot Pure Balance Treatment Mask - After having a lovely facial I was given a few samples to try out and my beautician recommended this little product, not as a full mask but to dab on any oncoming blemishes or marks at night - go to sleep and wake up with the blemish reduced or even gone! Fair to say this product does exactly that! The formula is that of a regular face mask and the smell is to die for - think fresh flowers on the market smell! There is a downside however, the price! For a full size tube, around the 50-100ml mark it's around £20 or so - and seeing as this sample of 3ml lasted me at least 3/4 months, I'm thinking I might just cheekily ask for another sample!! Repurchase? - Maybe, or I'll just get another sample!

4. Simple Hydrating Light Moisturiser - I've used this literally for years, ever since I started to take care of my skin, around the 11/12 year old mark I've used the Simple range with no hiccups. Having quite sensitive skin, it's hard to find a good moisturiser that doesn't irritate your skin or is affordable (!) yet with no scents or harmful chemicals, the Simple range is ideal! I use this twice daily - after washing and toning my face, it soaks into my skin quickly and doesn't leave skin oily, nor does it leave dry patches of skin! Repurchase? Definitely, I already have a couple stored away as to not ruin my Simple skincare streak - and at he £1 - £2 mark who can say no!

Hope you enjoyed,
Georgie xoxo
